CINCINNATI--The Marquette women's basketball team will look to continue its winning momentum on Sunday as the squad is slated to take on Xavier at 1 p.m. Central time at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati.

The game will air live on the BIG EAST Digital Network with Mike Schmaltz and Rich Hoyt on the call.

The Golden Eagles (18-7, 9-5) are fresh off of a 72-66 win at Butler on Friday night and have clinched a first-round bye in the BIG EAST Tournament with the win. Erika Davenport paced four Golden Eagles in double digits with 19 points and tallied her BIG EAST-leading 12th double-double also grabbing 11 rebounds as Natisha Hiedeman and Allazia Blockton each tallied 14 points, while Danielle King totaled 13.

Golden Eagles Trounce Xavier, 85-61
The Marquette University women's basketball team used 19 and 15-point efforts from sophomores Allazia Blockton and Natisha Hiedeman, respectively, en route to a 85-61 victory over Xavier on Friday night at the Al McGuire Center.

Blockton continues to lead the BIG EAST in scoring at 17.3 points per game, while Hiedeman checks in at 12th with 13.6 points as Davenport is 15th at 13.2 points each night. Davenport is the league's second-leading rebounder with 9.7 boards per contest. Blockton has 993 career points and is poised to become the youngest Golden Eagles in program history to reach the 1,000 point plateau.

Xavier fell to DePaul on Friday night and enters Sunday's contest with an 11-13 and 3-10 conference record. Raeshaun Gaffney leads the Musketeers with 14.7 points per game, while Madison Blackwell ranks sixth in the league with 6.3 rebounds per game.

In the first meeting this season between the two squads, MU came out on top, 85-61, behind 19 and 15 points from Allazia Blockton and Natisha Hiedeman, respectively.

MU leads the all-time series with Xavier, 9-7, but have fallen in the previous two games in Cincinnati.
