MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's basketball team returns home Sunday to the Al McGuire Center to take on No. 2/3 Notre Dame. Tip-off is set for 1:50 p.m. CT and the matchup will be broadcast live on ESPN2 with Pam Ward and Stephanie White on the call.

Sunday marks MU's 8th annual Play4Kay breast cancer awareness pink game. The team will be sporting pink uniforms and fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game to support breast cancer awareness. The festivities will include a health fair beginning at 12:30 p.m. on the concourse.

Marquette (12-12, 4-7) is coming off a narrow loss on the road to Cincinnati on Wednesday Feb. 13. The Bearcats converted a layup in the final second of regulation to propel them to a 54-52 win.

Senior Sarina Simmons provided a strong all-around effort for MU, notching 19 points and tying a career high with five blocks. Sophomore Arlesia Morse and freshman Brooklyn Pumroy also recorded nine points apiece. Pumroy was also very active defensively with four thefts and five rebounds.

The Irish's lone loss this season came at the hands of the No.1/1 team in the country, Baylor. Since then No.2/3 Notre Dame has rattled off 18 consecutive victories, including a one-point victory over perennial BIG EAST power house UConn.

The Irish feature four double-digit scorers, led by three-time All American Skylar Diggins. Diggins who is a player of the year candidate, is averaging 15.9 points per contest.

This is the 40th all-time meeting between Marquette and Notre Dame and the Irish own a 31-8 overall record. The Golden Eagles last win over the Irish was Jan. 13, 2009 in a 75-65 victory.
