Plouffe and Morse Collect All-BIG EAST Honors

HARTFORD, Conn. - Sophomore forward Katherine Plouffe and freshman guard Arlesia Morse each earned All-BIG EAST Conference honors announced Thursday afternoon by conference officials. Plouffe collected BIG EAST Honorable Mention accolades and Morse was named to the All-Freshman team.
Plouffe proved to be one of the most versatile players in the conference as she ranked among the league leaders in six different statistical categories in BIG EAST play and in eight categories overall.
Plouffe led Marquette in scoring (13.8 points) and rebounding (8.1 rebounds), while registering nine double-doubles during the regular season, including a league-high five in BIG EAST play. Plouffe finished conference play ranked in scoring (19th, 12.8), rebounding (5th, 8.1), free throw percentage (10th, 79.7), blocked shots (T-15th, 0.9), offensive rebounds (8th, 2.9) and defensive rebounds (5th, 5.2). Plouffe was an all-freshman team selection in 2011.
Morse was one of 12 All-BIG EAST Freshman Team selections. She started in all 29 games and was second on the team in scoring with 11.3 points per game and averaged 11.0 points in league play. Morse posted 19 games of double-figure scoring, including nine in BIG EAST action.
The Golden Eagles open BIG EAST Championship play against No. 11 seed Cincinnati Friday, March 2 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT.
