NEW YORK--A trio of Marquette University women's basketball players have earned All-BIG EAST honors, the conference office announced on Tuesday. Arlesia Morse was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team, while Kenisha Bell and Tia Elbert have been selected to the All-BIG EAST Freshman Team.

Morse finished the regular season averaging 14.6 points per game, which ranks ninth in the league. She recorded double figures in 23-of-29 games this year, including a career-high 30 points in a victory over Georgetown. Morse leads the BIG EAST and is fourth in the NCAA, shooting 92.1 percent from the free-throw line. The senior has missed just 11 shots this season and set a new Marquette program record hitting 17-for-17 from the charity stripe in the game against the Hoyas.

Bell was a unanimous selection to the All-BIG EAST freshman squad. She is MU's second leading scorer and 11th in the league with 14.3 points per contest, while her 2.1 steals per game rank ninth. Bell was selected as BIG EAST Freshman of the Week four times this season, including the final week of regular season action after recording a team-high 19 points at DePaul. She tallied double-digits in 23 games this season, including a career-best 25 points against Northern Kentucky.

Elbert joins Bell on the all-freshman team and is MU's third-leading scorer at 8.9 points per game, which registers as 25th in the BIG EAST. The guard is handing out 3.1 assists per game and has a 1.2 assist-to-turnover ratio and, along with Bell, accounts for 33 percent of the Golden Eagles' scoring and 30 percent of minutes played. Elbert recorded a career-high 21 points at Wake Forest earlier this season and dished a career-best nine assists on two occasions.

Marquette has earned the No. 8 seed in the BIG EAST Conference Tournament which opens on Saturday, March 7. The Golden Eagles will face No. 9 Providence at 2 p.m. CT at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. First round action will air live on the BIG EAST Digital Network via the Fox Sports Go app.
