Arlesia Morse Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

MILWAUKEE- After leading the Marquette University women's basketball team to three-straight victories last week, sophomore guard Arlesia Morse has been named to the BIG EAST honor roll for the week of March 4, the conference office announced Tuesday.
In victories over Providence, Georgetown, and Cincinnati, Morse averaged 17 points per contest, guiding Marquette to two road wins and a victory at home.
Morse shot the ball efficiently for the week, hitting 16-of-32 shots from the field as well as 6-of-12 three-point attempts. Morse shot at a 50% clip from both the field and from beyond the arc during Marquette's three-game winning streak.
Arlesia Morse has now been named to the BIG EAST honor roll twice this season. Morse was also honored by the BIG EAST for her outstanding play during the week of Dec. 31, 2012.
The Golden Eagles begin play at the BIG EAST Women's Basketball Championship in Hartford, Conn. Friday, March 8 against Pittsburgh. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m. CT.
