Marquette Faces Indiana on Saturday

MILWAUKEE--The Marquette University women's basketball team (22-10) is set to travel to Indiana (19-11) on Saturday, March 22 in the second round of the WNIT. The game will tip-off at 6 p.m. Central time at Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Ind.
The game will be streamed live on the Big Ten Digital Network with livestats also available.
The Golden Eagles escaped with a 63-61 victory at Indiana State on Thursday evening in a back-and-forth contest that was tied nine times and had 13 leads changes. Senior Katherine Plouffe had a record setting night with a Marquette and WNIT record 26 rebounds. She also earned 14th double-double of the season and third in as many games with 19 points to lead MU. The Golden Eagles also outrebounded the Sycamores, 50-36. Plouffe is back to averaging double digits with 17.6 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest. Classmate Katie Young tallied 11 points on Thursday and averages 12.6 points and 8.5 boards per night. MU is 14-8 all-time in the WNIT.
Indiana also escaped with a first round victory on Thursday, defeating Belmont 48-47. The Hoosiers were led by Larryn Brooks and Lyndsay Leikem who each tallied 11 points. IU is 19-11 heading into the game and makes its first postseason appearance since 2009. Brooks leads the Hoosiers this season with 15.4 points per game, while Simone Deloach posts 6.2 rebounds per game.
The winner will advance to the third round of the WNIT and will face the winner of Northwestern/IUPUI, which will be played at Northwestern on Sunday, March 23.
