WNIT Championship Game to be Televised Locally on WMLW Ch. 41
March 30, 2006 MILWAUKEE - The Women's National Invitational Tournament Championship game between Marquette (22-10) and Kansas State (23-10) on Friday, March 31 will be televised live locally on WMLW Ch. 41, it was announced Thursday. WMLW will also air a 30 minute pregame show beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The Golden Eagles advanced to the WNIT Championship after beating Pittsburgh, 77-64, in the semifinal round on Monday, March 27 at the Al McGuire Center.
Metro Sports in Kansas City will produce the broadcast, which will be carried on Time Warner Cable in the Kansas City metro area as well as Comcast Cable in Olathe and Blue Springs, and Sunflower Broadband in Lawrence.
Ben Boyle will serve as the play-by-play announcer along with Missy Decker Heidrick as the color analyst. Tipoff between the Wildcats and Golden Eagles is scheduled for 7 p.m. (CT) at Bramlage Coliseum.
The Union Sports Annex, located on the corner of 16th and Wells, will hold a viewing party for the game, beginning at 7 p.m.
