Chicago Sky to Play Exhibition Game at Al McGuire Center
May 2, 2007 MILWAUKEE - The Chicago Sky will host an exhibition game at the Al McGuire Center on Friday, May 4 at 7 p.m., taking on the Washington Mystics. One player in uniform for Chicago will be familiar to Marquette fans as Christina Quaye will be in the lineup as she works her way toward a spot on the final roster. Quaye was invited to the Sky's training camp that began Monday, April 23. "We are very proud of all that Christina has accomplished during her four years at Marquette, " said head coach Terri Mitchell. "Training with the Chicago Sky is another excellent opportunity for her and great for our program as a whole. We look forward to her homecoming Friday night and hope an enthusiastic crowd comes out to support her." Quaye had an outstanding four-year career as a Golden Eagle. A First Team All-BIG EAST selection in 2007, Quaye was a key component in Marquette's run to the NCAA Tournament. The Chicago native second on the team in scoring with 16.0 points per game and led the Golden Eagles in BIG EAST play with 19.0 ppg. Quaye was a Second Team All-BIG EAST selection in 2006 and earned Second Team All-Conference USA honors in 2005. Quaye finished her career at Marquette with 1,720 points (fourth all-time) and 754 rebounds (seventh all-time). She is one of five players in program history to register over 1,500 points and 700 rebounds for her career. "It is very exciting opportunity for me right now," said Quaye of training camp. "Training camp as a whole is different experience than what I have ever been a part of. There are so many great players that just bring it every day. I am definitely excited about coming back to Milwaukee and playing in front of many friends, family, coaches and teammates. At the same time I spent four years here and it will be weird playing in a different jersey at the Al, but I know I will have support from the fans."
