Gibson and Mandel Will Not Return in 2017-18

MILWAUKEE- Redshirt junior Chelsey Gibson and freshman Meghan Mandel have been granted a release and will transfer from the Marquette University women’s basketball program head coach Carolyn Kieger announced on Tuesday.
“We are thankful for the time and commitment Chelsey and Meghan gave to the University and our program,” Kieger said. “They both are great teammates and we wish them the best of luck as they pursue opportunities elsewhere.”
Gibson appeared in 10 games for the Golden Eagles this season, while Mandel played in nine, averaging 1.2 and 0.7 points per game, respectively. Gibson will graduate and use her fifth-year of eligibility at Troy University.
Marquette tallied a 25-8 record in 2015-16 and will return 11 players next season.
