MILWAUKEE- Marquette University women's basketball head coach Carolyn Kieger has announced the 2015-16 non-conference slate for the Golden Eagles. MU will play four home games and one exhibition at the Al McGuire Center before beginning BIG EAST play in late December.

Along with playing on a brand-new court, the Golden Eagles will have a new look themselves, returning just two players from last year's team.

"We are very excited about this year's schedule," Kieger said. "We have great teams coming to the Al, which will give our fans entertaining games. We have a completely new look this season and we look forward to beginning the year at in-state school Green Bay. I know that our challenging non-conference schedule will help prepare our team for BIG EAST play."

Marquette will host Southwest Baptist University in an exhibition at the Al on Sunday, Nov. 8 before officially opening the 2015-16 campaign at Green Bay. It is the first time the Golden Eagles will open the season in a road venue since the 2005-06 season when the squad opened play at Evansville, and the second straight year that MU will open the year against the in-state foe, Phoenix.

The Golden Eagles will host IUPUI on Monday, Nov. 16, which will be the only home game in the month of November. Marquette will hit the road for contests at Northern Kentucky (Nov. 21) and at South Dakota (Nov. 23) before traveling South to compete in Florida International's Thanksgiving tournament Nov. 27-29. Possible opponents include: Wichita State, Richmond and FIU.

Marquette will open December with three consecutive home games beginning Thursday, Dec. 3 with Oregon State at the Al. The Beavers return 11-of-12 from a squad that finished 27-5 overall last season and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Following its game against Oregon State, the Golden Eagles will host Wisconsin in its annual showdown with the in-state Badgers on Sunday, Dec. 6, and host Auburn on Sunday, Dec. 13.

The non-conference portion of the schedule will finish with two road games, Saturday, Dec. 19 at Arizona State and at cross-town foe Milwaukee on Tuesday, Dec. 22.
