MILWAUKEE - Marquette University head women's basketball coach Terri Mitchell has announced the addition of former women's basketball standout Christina Quaye to the staff as a graduate assistant.

Quaye will assist with video coordination, student-athlete development and community service initiatives.

"I'm thrilled to have Christina back in the Marquette family as a member of my staff," said Mitchell. " She was an outstanding player who impacted our program with her tenacious play and winning attitude. She brings wisdom and a tremendous work ethic that will serve as an example to our players. It means a great deal to me to have two former players on my staff, both Kiesha and Christina add a unique perspective of being both an athlete and staff member in our program."

Quaye was a four-year starter from 2003-07. She helped the Golden Eagles to 88 wins and four post-season appearances, including its best season to date during the 2006-07 season when the Golden Eagles went 26-7 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship. She earned First Team All-BIG EAST honors as a senior in 2007, while finishing the season ninth in the league in scoring, third in BIG EAST Conference games. As a junior Quaye was a Second Team All-BIG EAST selection and an All-Conference USA Second Team honoree as a sophomore.

Quaye finished her career with 1,720 points and 754 rebounds, ranking her fourth and seventh, respectively, on the all-time scoring and rebounding lists. She is one of five players in program history to register over 1,500 points and 700 rebounds for her career.

Quaye earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in 2007 and following graduation she played for various professional basketball teams in Greece, Spain, Puerto Rico and Germany.
