Photo Gallery Marquette University served as host 35th Annual Briggs & Al's Run & Walk for Children's Hospital Saturday morning on a picture-perfect day for the event through downtown Milwaukee.

The MU men's and women's basketball team visited with the Children's Champions prior to the race and cheered on the nearly 14,000 participants at the starting line. Several of Marquette's programs were also represented in the field of competitors, including men's and women's lacrosse.

Briggs & Al's Run & Walk owes its success to a wellspring of community support that has benefited Children's Hospital in countless ways. The late Marquette University basketball coach Al McGuire, the event's founder, was deeply committed to supporting many Children's Hospital programs. In the early days proceeds from the first run and walk went toward the prosthetic limb bank.
