Women's Basketball Will Host Fantasy Camp
Sept. 23, 2016
MILWAUKEE--Marquette University women's basketball head coach Carolyn Kieger is excited to announce the first-ever Marquette Women's Basketball Fantasy Camp, hosted by MU staff and student-athletes. The event will be held on Thursday, Oct. 27 at the Al McGuire Center beginning at 6 p.m.
For one night, fans will have the chance to dust off their basketball shoes and experience first hand what it takes for the team to be game ready all season long.
Fantasy Campers will be taken through several drills, stations, and presentations in an effort to enhance basketball fundamentals and gain a better understanding of the game. The evening will conclude with an opportunity to implement newly honed skills in 5 v. 5 or 3 v. 3 games.
"Fantasy Camp is a unique experience that allows our fan base to interact with our players and staff on a more personal level," Kieger said. "Our players are looking forward to trading their sneakers in for whistles for the night and showing fans how hard they work to prepare for the season."
The event is open to participants that are 25 and older, with both men and women welcome to join in the evening's activities. The entire camp is free of charge and will run from 6 -- 8 p.m. Children are not able to participate in the camp, but there will be a family friendly atmosphere throughout the Al McGuire Center with concourse games and activities. Any fan that does not wish to participate, but would still like to meet the players and staff, are also welcome to join us for the evening.
