Women's Basketball Hosts Annual Media Day

MILWAUKEE--First year head coach Carolyn Kieger and the 2014-15 Marquette women's basketball held its annual Media Day Friday afternoon at the Al McGuire Center, as the team and coaching staff were introduced to the Milwaukee media.

Kieger addressed the media with an opening statement, offering an assessment of preseason work outs and presenting insights for the upcoming season.

Kieger spoke at length about the importance of the team's travels to Europe this summer, and how the opportunity brought the team together. She noted that over the team's time in Europe and its 14 practices so far, that the team has gelled. "We've grown as individuals, a program and as a team", said Kieger.

The first year head coach also remarked about her team's challenging non-conference and BIG EAST schedule saying, "Our goal is to go out there, be the best and beat the best." MU's non-conference slate features a plethora of tough opponents, including perennial powerhouse Duke.

Marquette is set to host Lewis University on Sunday, Nov. 9th for an exhibition contest at 2 p.m. Central time at the Al McGuire Center.

The Golden Eagles open the season Saturday, Nov. 15th, when they host Green Bay for 1 p.m. tilt in their 2014-15 home opener.
