Marquette Opens Season With Exhibition

Senior Katherine Plouffe is the squad's leading returning scorer

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women's basketball team will open the 2013-14 season at home with an exhibition game against the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Friday, Nov. 1 at 7:00 p.m. Central time.

The Golden Eagles return four starters from the 2012-13 season: Arlesia Morse, Chelsie Butler, Brooklyn Pumroy and Katherine Plouffe. MU ended last season with an even 16-16 record, snagging a WNIT berth. The squad was picked to finished fifth place in the newly-revised BIG EAST Conference with 55 points, one point shy of Villanova's fourth place.

The Warhawks reached the NCAA Division III National Championship last season, falling to DePauw 69-51. The team ended with the second highest victory total in school history with a 26-7 record and is chosen to win the WIAC conference for the 2013-14 season. UW-Whitewater is returning three starters from last season's team.

The Golden Eagles will host their 2013-14 homeopener Saturday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. Central time against Wake Forest, which will include a pre-game carnival with prizes for kids, magnet schedule giveaways and a post-game autograph session.

Single game ticket prices are $10 for reserved chair back seats, $8 for lower bench and $5 for general admission. Season tickets to watch the Golden Eagles start at $40 with additional Family Plan option (2 adult, 2 youth) for $150 lower bench/$100 GA.

A four-game mini plan is also available for purchase, which features Duke (Nov. 24), Wisconsin (Dec. 7), Georgetown (Feb. 1) and Creighton (March 1). Tickets for the mini-plan are $24, $18, and $14.
