Chloe Marotta Signs with Marquette

Nov. 8, 2017

MILWAUKEE- Marquette University women’s basketball head coach Carolyn Kieger is pleased to announce the signing of Chloe Marotta to a National Letter of Intent. Marotta marks Kieger’s fourth recruiting class and will have four years of eligibility.

“We are beyond thrilled to welcome Chloe Marotta officially to the Marquette women’s basketball family,” Kieger said. “She has been a part of the Marquette family for many years, but to have her on the women’s side is really a dream come true for our staff. She is everything that is right about Marquette and exemplifies the student-athlete that we want to coach and that we want representing our program.”

Marotta joins the Golden Eagles from nearby Mequon, Wisconsin where she is a two-time first team all-conference selection and was named the No. 1 player in Wisconsin for 2018 by WisSports. At Homestead High School Marotta reached her 1,000th point as a junior, was Co-Player of the Year in the North Conference and earned First Team all-state accolades.

She averaged a double-double all three seasons and in her junior year tallied 20.5 points per game and grabbed 10.7 rebounds per game en route to earning team MVP honors. The 6’1 forward is a three-time First Team All-Area honoree and was listed by ESPNHoopGurlz as one of the top 100 players to watch. She also ranks No. 14 at her position.

“As a player Chloe is relentless,” Kieger noted. “She does all of the little things and has improved her game every season. She is the type of player that makes everyone around her better and she wants to work harder. Her skill-set is catching up to her tenacity and she can stretch the floor, shoot the three, pound the ball inside and she will be able to play multiple positions for us.

“Chloe is self-motivated and she wants to be great for all of the right reasons and the sky is the limit for her here at Marquette. “

Marotta is the sister of current men’s basketball junior Cam Marotta and her father Marc was the only three-time First Team Academic All-America selection in MU men’s basketball history.

Marotta joins the Golden Eagles in the summer of 2018.
