Marquette Will Host Saint Francis (PA) on Tuesday

MILWAUKEE- After opening the season with a monstrous 87-37 victory over Longwood, the Marquette women's basketball team is slated to welcome Saint Francis (PA) to the Al McGuire Center on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. Central time.

The game will stream live and for free on, courtesy of Marquette student television.

The Golden Eagles (1-0) had four player record double digits in the season lidlifter, led by sophomore Allazia Blockton with 19 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steal, which earned her a spot on the first BIG EAST weekly honor roll of the season. Also in double figures was classmate Erika Davenport pouring in 18 points with 10 rebounds for MU's first double-double of the season, senior McKayla Yentz with 14 points and sophomore Danielle King with 10 points.

Golden Eagles Top St. Francis In Season Opener, 74-38
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's basketball team defeated St. Francis (Pa.) 74-38 Saturday afternoon at the Al McGuire Center.

Marquette shot 45.6-percent from the floor on 36-for-79 shooting and outrebounded the Lancers, 52-31, while turning in an impressive 22-to-11 assist-to-turnover ratio.

In its first outing of the season, Saint Francis (1-0) battled in an offensive shootout, defeating Wisconsin, 103-100 on Sunday. The Flash were led by Jessica Kovatch with 29 points, while Katie Reese poured in 27 points. Kovatch is a preseason All-NEC pick and was named to the Nancy Lieberman Watch List honoring the best point guard in the nation.

This will be the third all-time meeting between the two squads with the series record locked at 1-1. In the last outing Marquette defeated Saint Francis, 74-38 on Nov. 14, 2009.



Following this game, MU will remain home to conclude a three-game homestand as the squad welcomes No. 18 Arizona State on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. CT.
