Golden Eagles Hit the Road to Play at Indiana State Wednesday

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women's basketball team will hit the road for the first time this season when it heads to Terre Haute, Ind., to take on Indiana State Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. CT. The game will be the Sycamores first ever game on the Nellie & John Wooden Court at the Hulman Center. The Golden Eagles will look for their third straight win when they take to the court Wednesday, while the young Sycamore squad, that features seven freshmen, will look to claim its first win of the season. ISU narrowly lost at Central Michigan, 84-83, in its season opener. Wednesday's meeting between Marquette and Indiana State will be the third in program history. The Golden Eagles and the Sycamores met last season on Dec. 15 at the Al McGuire Center with MU claiming the win, 83-79. The first game of the series came in 1981 where Indiana State defeated MU, 70-47. Marquette has started the season in impressive fashion with a pair of 22-point wins over Oral Roberts (89-67) and Sacred Heart (77-55). In back-to-back starts, freshman Jessica Pachko has impressed averaging 12.0 points and 6.0 rebounds. She was a perfect 4-of-4 from the floor in 24 minutes of action against Oral Roberts and missed only one shot (6-of-7) in 21 minutes against Sacred Heart. The Golden Eagles have complied a 98-42 mark in regular season non-conference games under Terri Mitchell, including a 22-3 record at the Al McGuire Center. The Golden Eagles are 36-20 in road games under Mitchell. Following its game at Indiana State, Marquette will head to Western Michigan on Sunday, Nov. 23, for a 1 p.m. tip-off with the Broncos. The Golden Eagles will then return home to host the WBCA Classic at the Al McGuire Center Nov. 28-30.
