Erika Davenport Tabbed BIG EAST Player of the Week

NEW YORK--Marquette women's basketball sophomore Erika Davenport has been selected as BIG EAST Player of the Week after leading MU in its two wins last week, the league office announced on Monday.

Davenport recorded a double-double in both games last week, her second and third this season, and averaged 18.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in wins over Saint Francis and No. 18/16 Arizona State. She connected on 70.8 percent of her shots in 63 minutes of action.

Through three games this season, Davenport is averaging 18.3 points and 10.3 boards to lead the Golden Eagles (3-0). Her three double-doubles lead the BIG EAST and the Clarkston, Michigan native is the conference's top-rebounder and tied with classmate Allazia Blockton for second in the league in scoring.

Marquette opens a three-game road trip this week, beginning at No. 24 Oregon State on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 8 p.m. Central time. The game will air on the Pac-12 Network.
