Marquette Hosts No. 2/2 Duke on Sunday

MILWAUKEE--With a 4-0 start to the season, the Marquette women's basketball team faces a tough test on Sunday as No. 2/2 Duke (4-0) visits the Al McGuire Center. The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 with Tiffany Greene (play-by-play) and LaChina Robinson (analyst) on the call. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m. CT.
The Golden Eagles are coming off of an 84-72 victory over Central Michigan on Thursday. Senior Katie Young posted her third double double of the season with a career-high 28 points and 13 rebounds, while classmate Katherine Plouffe also posted her fourth double double in as many games with 21 points and 13 boards. Junior Cristina Bigica tallied a career-best 13 points.
Plouffe leads MU in scoring with 20.3 points per game and averages 13 rebounds per contest, while Young is just shy of averaging a double double with 15.3 ppg and 9.8 rebounds. Junior Apiew Ojulu and sophomore Brooklyn Pumroyalso average double digits with 13.0 and 11.5 points, respectively.
The Blue Devils have five players averaging double figures and are led by Tricia Liston with 18.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per outing. Duke is ranked No. 2 in both national polls and recorded an 88-69 victory over Vanderbilt on Thursday evening. The Blue Devils are shooting 51.1 percent from the field this season and are outscoring opponents by 37.2 points.
This will be the fourth meeting between Marquette and Duke and the Blue Devils own a 3-0 record in the series.
Following Duke, the Golden Eagles will hit the road for a two-game stretch facing Tennesse Tech and Utah in the Las Vegas South Point Shootout.
