Marquette Travels to No. 23/17 Green Bay

MILWAUKEE- The Marquette University women's basketball team will play its first true road game of the 2011-12 season at No. 23/17 Green Bay on Friday, Dec. 2, at the Kress Events Center.
Sports32 will carry the game live with Chris Roth (play-by-play) and Mary Simonsen (analyst) calling all of the action.
The Golden Eagles will look for its second straight win Friday night. Marquette defeated New Orleans, 96-35, in its last time out, which also gave head coach Terri Mitchell her 300th career victory. Three Golden Eagles registered double-doubles led by a 21 point and 14 rebound performance from freshman Apiew Ojulu. Overall, Marquette had five players score in double figures for the first time since Jan. 8, 2011.
The game against the 23rd/17th-ranked Phoenix will mark the first ranked opponent Marquette will meet this season. Six of Marquette's remaining opponents are ranked in the top-25.
Green Bay, the 2011 San Juan Shootout champion, enters the game with Marquette 5-0 following wins over Illinois and Georgia Tech in overtime in Puerto Rico.
Julie Wojta leads the Phoenix with 20.8 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. Adrian Ritchie, Lydia Bauer and Sarah Eichler follow with 13.6, 11.6 and 11.0 points per game, respectively. Green Bay has scored 80-or-more points in four of its five games this season.
Friday's meeting will mark the 38th all-time meeting between the Golden Eagles and Phoenix. Marquette is 8-29 all-time against Green Bay. The Golden Eagles last defeated the Phoenix, 63-60, on Dec. 12, 2010. MU's last win at the Kress Events Center came on Dec. 1, 2007, 60-48.
