MILWAUKEE--The Marquette University women's basketball team travels north for its first of two consecutive games against in-state opponents to take on Green Bay at the Kress Events Center on Saturday, December 2 at 1:00 p.m. Central time.
The game will air live on ESPN3.
The Golden Eagles (3-2) took down Loyola Chicago on Tuesday 92-30, setting a new program record for largest margin of victory. Four Marquette players notched double-digits and every available player saw action against the Ramblers. Amani Wilborn led the squad with 19 points and was followed by Erika Davenport with 14. Danielle King and Allazia Blockton each tallied 13 points.
This was Marquette's first game back at the Al McGuire Center after they went 1-1 in the Cancun Challenge, collecting a win over Montana and falling in a close overtime game against No. 12/14 Tennessee, 101-99.
Green Bay (5-1) was also in attendance for the Cancun Challenge where they went 2-1, beating both Columbia and then-top-25 squad Arizona State before suffering the first loss of the season to No. 7/3 Mississippi State. Senior Jessica Lindstrom leads the Phoenix in points with an average of 13.5 per game. Last season she scored a career-high 24 points against Marquette.
Marquette has not defeated Green Bay in the last three years that the two teams have met. The Golden Eagles are 8-34 in all-time series victories against the Phoenix with the last victory coming in 2010.
Following Saturday's contest, Marquette hosts Wisconsin at the Al McGuire Center on Monday, December 4 at 7:00 p.m. CT. The matchup will be broadcast live on Spectrum Sports.
