Marquette Travels to Wisconsin on Wednesday

MILWAUKEE - Coming off back-to-back victories, the Marquette University women's basketball team heads to Madison, Wis. to take on instate rival Wisconsin at 7 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Dec. 5.

Last week Marquette (4-2) picked up consecutive wins against South Dakota St. and Fordham.
Against Fordham the Golden Eagles were led by junior Katherine Plouffe, who posted her third double-digit rebounding game of the season, and also added nine points and four assists. Freshman point guard, Brooklyn Pumroy, once again made an impact, tallying 10 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Senior Sarina Simmons provided a spark of the bench, scoring 10 points. All but one player who saw action against Fordham recorded an assist.
Wisconsin (4-3) is fresh off a victory at home against SEC foe Alabama. The Badgers have won 2 of 3, and post a 3-1 mark at home.
Wisconsin is led by junior guard Morgan Paige, who is averaging 15.7 points per game. Junior center Cassie Rochel, does the majority of the rebounding for the Badgers, posting an average of seven rebounds a contest.
MU has won the previous two meetings, though Wisconsin holds an 10-9 advantage in the overall series.
Following Wisconsin, the Golden Eagles return home and will host Green Bay at 2 p.m. at the Al McGuire Center. MU will be hosting a Teddy Bear Toss/Toy Drive - Bring in a new stuffed animal to toss onto the court during halftime for a chance to win an MU prize pack. Other toy/game donations will also be accepted in the arena. All items collected will be donated to the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
Following the game there will be a free shuttle to take fans from the McGuire Center to the Bradley Center for the men's game, which begins at 5 p.m.
