MILWAUKEE-- The Marquette women's basketball team heads to Ann Arbor, Michigan to face No. 24/21 Michigan on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. Central time in the Golden Eagles second consecutive game against a Big Ten foe.

The Golden Eagles (4-3) wrapped up their two-game run at in-state rivals by downing Wisconsin, 88-65 on Monday evening. Natisha Hiedeman dominated the game with 26 points and impeccable defense. The team collaborated for a season-high 17 steals, while a game-high of six steals were swiped by Amani Wilborn.

Marquette Falls to Michigan, 71-51
Marquette had three Golden Eagles score in double figures, but fell 71-51 to Michigan in the finale of the 2011 U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam. Katherine Plouffe earned a spot on the all-tournament team and the Golden Eagles finished third in the Reef Division.

Junior Allazia Blockton leads MU with 17.4 points per game, while the Golden Eagles combine for 84.4 point per game, which is 16th in the NCAA. Marquette is also among national leader in assists per game as the squad dishes out 18.3 each contest behind 4.0 from Wilborn.

The Wolverines (6-2) are led on the front court by Katelynn Flaherty and Hallie Thome, who are both averaging double-digits. Senior Flaherty is posting a 23.0 points per game average, shooting at 46.7% from the field, while Thome sits at a 17.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. The Maize and Blue have two losses come from top-five teams, No. 3 Notre Dame and No. 5 Louisville.

Michigan holds a 4-3 edge over Marquette in the series history with the last matchup between the Golden Eagles and the Wolverines coming on Nov. 26, 2011. Michigan took a 71-51 win during the U.S. Virgin Island Paradise Jam Tournament.

Marquette will return to Milwaukee to host Army West Point on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. CT at the Al McGuire Center, which will mark the final non-conference home game of the campaign.
