Marquette Begins Five-Game Homestand on Saturday

MILWAUKEE - After dropping a highly contested affair on the road against rival Wisconsin, the Marquette University women's basketball team returns to the Al McGuire Center Saturday Dec. 8 at 2:05 p.m. CT to take on yet another instate foe, the Green Bay Phoenix. This is the first of five consecutive home games for the Golden Eagles.
The game will be broadcast live on Time Warner Sports 32.
Against the Badgers Marquette featured a potent offense, shooting a season-best 49% from the field. For the fourth time this season four players recorded double digit point totals.
Junior forward Katherine Plouffe notched her second double-double of the season, grabbing a season-high 13 boards and netting 12 points. Sophomore center Chelsie Butler posted a career-high 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting. Sophomore guard Arlesia Morse led all scorers with 15, knocking down three 3-pointers.
Green Bay (5-2) saw its three-game winning streak come to an end Wednesday night against Central Michigan. Despite holding a 12 point lead at the half on the road against the Chippewas, Green Bay dropped the contest 54-50.
Preseason All-Horizon league selection Adrian Ritchie paces the Phoenix offensively, averaging 17.5 points per game on 50% shooting from the field. Red shirt senior Stephanie Sension is also a key cog in Green Bay's offense, averaging 12.5 points and 6.3 rebounds a contest.
MU will be hosting a Teddy Bear Toss/Toy Drive - Bring in a new stuffed animal to toss onto the court during halftime for a chance to win an MU prize pack. Other toy/game donations will also be accepted in the arena. All items collected will be donated to the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
Following the game there will be a free shuttle to take fans from the McGuire Center to the Bradley Center for the men's game, which begins at 5 p.m
