MILWAUKEE--The Marquette University women's basketball team will conclude its three-game home stand this Sunday, Dec. 13 with a non-conference bout against the Auburn Tigers at 1 p.m. Central time at the Al McGuire Center.

The game will be broadcast live by Time Warner Cable SportsChannel with Patrick Reed and Kevin O'Connor on the call.

The Golden Eagles (3-5) will look to secure a winning record during their three-game stay at the Al, after splitting a pair contests last week. Despite suffering a close, 65-58, loss against No. 7/7 Oregon State on Dec. 3, Marquette rallied back to topple in state rival Wisconsin, 77-61, this past Sunday, Dec 6.

Marquette Drops a 79-53 Decision at Auburn
The Marquette University women's basketball team (2-5) fell on the road at Auburn (4-2) on Tuesday evening at Auburn Arena.

Two time BIG EAST Conference honoree and reigning BIG EAST Freshman of the Week Allazia Blockton continues to lead the Golden Eagles offensively, scoring 17.0 points per game to couple her 6.4 rebound per contest average. Blockton also sits fourth in the conference in scoring, and is first in the league among freshmen.

Marquette has also shown improvement on the defensive side of the ball, holding their last two opponents to 65 points or less, a feat MU had only accomplished once before the current home stand.

The Golden Eagles' youth movement has also begun to pick up steam, with the team claiming victories in three of the last four match-ups. Along with Blockton, freshman Natisha Heideman is scoring at a solid clip, netting 13.3 points per game, while also leading the team in assists and steals with 21 and 17, respectively. Guard Danielle King provides balance for the MU offense, posting 9.4 ppg and 4.4 rpg, and Amani Wilborn provides a punch off the bench for head coach Carolyn Kieger, scoring 8.3 points in 22.4 minutes played.

The Auburn Tigers (6-1) will take the court against MU while riding a four-game winning streak. The Tigers are paced by senior Tra'Cee Tanner who averages 13.0 points per contest and grabs 7.9 rebounds per game, while junior Brady Montgomery leads the team in scoring with 18.3 points per game.

Following the contest with Auburn, the Golden Eagles will hit the road for a five-game stretch which will feature the conclusion of their non-conference schedule as well as their BIG EAST opener. MU will open the road trip at No. 24 Arizona State on Dec. 19 in Tempe, Arizona with the tip-off scheduled for 4 p.m. C.T.
