MU Hosts Milwaukee on Sunday

MILWAUKEE--The Marquette women's basketball team finishes out a three-game stretch against local Wisconsin squads on Sunday, Dec. 18 when the Golden Eagles welcome cross-city foe Milwaukee to the Al McGuire Center at 3 p.m. Central time.
There are multiple promotions taking place on Sunday at the Al. The Golden Eagle will don his Santa Suit and hand out candy canes to fans, while Christmas themed music will be featured through the game. Fans in attendance will have a chance to win a Marquette 'Ugly Christmas Sweater'. There will also be a special Christmas halftime performance by the Generation Alive dance team.
General admission seating will be buy-one get-one free admission at the game and after the game a post-game autograph session will occur on the concourse.
The Golden Eagles (7-2) most recently held on for an 81-75 victory over Wisconsin last Sunday, fueled by a 15-0 run in the fourth quarter. Allazia Blockton led four Golden Eagles in double digit scoring with 24 points and tallied 10 rebounds. Blockton's double-double performance landed her a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. Erika Davenport poured in her sixth double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds) in eight games for MU this season against the Badgers.
Blockton leads the squad and the BIG EAST Conference with 19.1 points per game, while Erika Davenport is averaging 14 points per game. Davenport second in the league in rebounding with 9.6 per contest and has recorded a double-double in six of MU's nine games so far this season.
Hiedeman is contributing 13.9 points per contest, tallying 17 points and handing out seven assists in last Sunday's matchup. The sophomore also leads Marquette with 42 assists (4.67 per game), good enough for fourth in conference.
Milwaukee (8-2) most recently took down Chicago State, 71-49, on Wednesday night. The Panthers are paced by junior Steph Kostowicz, who had 12 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in the victory, and averages 17.4 points per contest on the season.
Sunday is the 46th meeting between the programs. Marquette has fallen to Milwaukee just twice in the past twenty years ('96, '08) and captured last year's victory at the Klotsche Center, 101-81.
Marquette returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 21 to close out non-conference play against New Mexico at 11:30 a.m. CT, which is the Golden Eagles' annual MPS Day.
