Join MU Sunday for Christmas at the Al

The Golden Eagle will be dressed for the occasion on Sunday

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's basketball team invites fans of all ages to Sunday's game vs. Western Illinois to celebrate Christmas the Al McGuire Center.

Tip-off is at 2 p.m. and doors open at 1 p.m.

The Golden Eagles are sponsoring a toy drive during the game to encourage fans to embrace the reason for the season. Each fan who brings a new, unwrapped stuffed animal or other toys will receive a discounted admission price of three dollars. All toys will be donated to House of Peace Milwaukee so they can be distributed to children in the Milwaukee community for the holidays.

Fans will also have the chance to win a variety of prizes throughout the game starting with a tacky sweater contest. Each member of the coaching staff will be wearing their tacky holiday sweaters and they encourage fans to as well. All fans who join them will have a photo opportunity with the Golden Eagle on the court at halftime.

The Golden Eagle will be dressed up as Santa for Sunday's festivities and will hand out candy canes in the stands.

At halftime, there will be a fan judging for the tackiest sweater and the winner will receive a MU prize pack. Fans will also have the chance to participate in a stuffed toys toss at halftime for a second chance to win a Marquette prize.

In addition, Sunday is also "Family Funday," where tickets are buy one get one free and concessions has select deals as well.
