Marquette Returns to Action to Host Loyola Chicago

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women's basketball team closes out a five-game homestand on Saturday as the Golden Eagles (6-5) host Loyola Chicago (4-6) at 7 p.m. at the Al McGuire Center.
MU has won two back-to-back games defeating Navy and Dartmouth last week on consecutive days. Following this contest Marquette will play at Central Michigan on Jan. 2 before returning to Milwaukee to open BIG EAST play with two home games against Syracuse and Connecticut.
Sophomore Arlesia Morse led MU with 19 points as the Golden Eagles defeated Dartmouth 70-52 on Dec. 20. Junior Katherine Plouffe tallied 17 points for back-to-back games scoring in double figures. She earned a spot on the BIG EAST honor roll for her performance last week. Plouffe leads MU in scoring and rebounding with 13.6 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per game.
Simone Law leads the Ramblers in scoring with 12.7 points per game. She is also their leading rebounder with 9.6 boards each contest. Loyola Chicago defeated Chicago State, 81-43 on Dec. 22, which snapped a five-game losing streak.
This is the 17th all-time meeting between the two squads with the series tied at 8-8.
