MILWAUKEE--The Marquette University women's basketball team will open its 11th season of BIG EAST Conference play on Tuesday, Dec. 29 when the squad heads to No. 17/23 DePaul. The game will tip at 7 p.m. Central time, live on the BIG EAST Digital Network with Dave Bernhard and Trish Babcock-McGraw calling the action from Chicago.

The Golden Eagles enter league play with a 5-6 overall record, but are on the upswing with a 5-2 record over the past seven games, after opening the season 0-4. MU is led by freshmen duo Allazia Blockton and Natisha Hiedeman who rank in the top-10 of the BIG EAST in scoring with 17.5 and 14.4 points, respectively, while Blockton is the league's top scoring freshmen.

MU Falls, 99-82 at DePaul
The Marquette University women's basketball team (8-20, 4-14) fell, 99-82 to DePaul (23-7, 15-3) in a hard-fought contest Sunday afternoon in Chicago to conclude regular season action.

DePaul went 8-5 in non-conference action and registered wins at then-No. 15/16 Texas A&M and No. 12/13 Northwestern, while three of their losses came against top-ranked team's Connecticut, Notre Dame and Baylor.

Megan Podkowa leads the Blue Demons with 15.5 points and 8.5 rebounds, and leads the BIG EAST with five double-doubles this year. Junior Jessica January leads DePaul and the BIG EAST with 6.6 assists per game which ranks 11th in Division I while her 86 assists this season are the fourth most.

Following Tuesday's game, Marquette will conclude its five-game road swing with a trip to Seton Hall (Jan. 3) and St. John's (Jan. 5). Both games will air live on BEDN via FOX Sports Go.
