WASHINGTON, D.C.--After opening the BIG EAST season with a victory at Villanova on Wednesday, the Marquette women's basketball team will look to continue that momentum as the Golden Eagles face Georgetown on Friday, Dec. 30 at 1 p.m. Central time.

The game will air live on the BIG EAST Digital Network and can also be seen locally on Fox Sports Wisconsin.

MU opened league action with a 77-71 victory at Villanova, led by 21 points from Allazia Blockton and an eighth double-double of the season from Erika Davenport with 17 points and a career-best 15 rebounds. Amani Wilborn also notched double digits with 15 points. This was the first conference opener victory for the Golden Eagles (10-2, 1-0) since the 2013-14 campaign.

Marquette's Streak Ends at Georgetown, 75-72
The Marquette University women's basketball team's winning streak came to an end on Friday as the Golden Eagles fell at Georgetown, 75-72.

Marquette is back to receiving votes in the latest AP poll, along with the Hoyas, who enter Friday's game with an 8-3 overall record and a 0-1 mark in BIG EAST action after falling to DePaul on Wednesday.

Faith Woodard and Dionna White lead Georgetown with 15.1 and 15.0 points, respectively, while Woodard is also grabbing 9.3 rebounds per contest, which ranks third in the league. Davenport is the leader in rebounding as she is back to averaging a double-double with 13.8 points and 10.3 rebounds.

Blockton leads the conference in scoring with 17.7 points per contest and is 12th in rebounding, grabbing 5.8 per night.

Marquette returns home to host Creighton on Monday, Jan. 2 at 7:30 p.m. CT, live on FS1.
