Little Dribblers Basketball Camp
Cost: $70.00

Open to campers (entering) grades 2-4

An introductory level camp for the young basketball enthusiast. Campers will be introduced to the fundamentals of the game, including ball handling, passing, lay ups, and shooting form. Campers will participate in drills, contests, and basketball related activities. In addition, campers will receive a camp ball, camp tee, and will have the opportunity to win other prizes. Parents are invited to and encouraged to stay and observe. The camp will be held at the Marquette Gym on the Campus of Marquette University.

Marquette Day Camp
Cost: $180.00
August 6-9, 2001 (Mon.-Thurs.) 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Open to campers (entering) grades 5-8

Four intense, basketball filled days!! Campers will participate in offensive and defensive drills and station work, play in 5-on-5 games, and hear various guest speakers on subjects regarding basketball, nutrition, and strength & conditioning. Campers will also participate in 3-on-3, 1-on-1 and other basketball related contests. Each participant will receive a camp ball, a camp tee, a buffet lunch at the Union Sports Annex, and a camp evaluation from their camp coach. The camp will be held at the Marquette Gym and at the Helfaer Recreation Center, both located on the campus of Marquette University.

New!!! Marquette University Women's Basketball is now offering overnight basketball camps. The same 20 hrs. of basketball instruction that we offer in our day camp, has now been condensed into an intense 3 day/2 night basketball camp! Campers will participate in offensive and defensive stations, play 5-on-5 games, and compete in other basketball related contests. Each camper will receive a camp ball, a camp tee, and the opportunity to win other prizes that may be awarded throughout camp.

Overnight campers will be housed at Schroeder Hall and will be closely supervised by Marquette camp staff at all times. All meals are included in the overnight camp, and commuters will receive lunch and dinner.

Marquette Team Camp
Cost: $250.00
August 9-11, 2001 (Thurs. - Sat.)
Open to Middle school, Junior Varsity & Varsity divisions

Get a jump on the competition! Enroll in the Marquette University Team Camp. An opportunity for you and your team to receive instruction, play games, participate in contests, and to spend time with the Marquette University Women's Basketball Team and Staff. Teams will be divided according to age and ability. This camp will run Thursday night through Saturday afternoon. Each camper will receive a camp ball, a camp tee, meals, and will be supervised by Marquette Camp Staff at all times.

Please get your team registered early, there is limited space in these camps! Each team must have a minimum of 7 players registered for camp.

When we receive your camp application, we will send you a more detailed and informative confirmation letter.

Each camper will receive:

  • MU camp basketball
  • Lunch at the Union Sports Annex
  • Participation in special games and contests
  • Evaluation

    Head Coach
    Terri Mitchell

    Terri Mitchell is in her sixth season as head coach at Marquette University. Last season, Mitchell led the Golden Eagles to a 21-7 record (13-0 at home) and Marquette's first-ever outright Conference USA regular season championship. Marquette has now compiled 20 wins or more and been to the NCAA tournament for four consecutive years. At the end of the season, Mitchell was named Conference USA Coach of the Year. Mitchell was also named Conference USA Coach of the Year after the 1997-1998 season. Mitchell was a four-year letterwinner and team co-captain at Dusquesne.

    Assistant Coach / Camp Coordinator
    Michelle Nason
    Michelle Nason is in her sixth season as an assistant after a stellar playing career at Bradley. Her coaching duties include on-the-court coaching, scouting, and office administration. Nason is the Marquette University Girls Basketball Camp Coordinator and is in charge of all aspects of the camps.

    A native of Iowa City, Iowa, Nason played her first two seasons at Western Illinois before transferring to Bradley. In 1991, she was named to the Freshman All-American team by Fast Break magazine after she averaged 13.7 points and 49.5% from behind the three-point arc.

    As a senior at Bradley, Nason averaged 16.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. One of the top three point shooters in the nation, Nason was selected to participate in the Three-Point Shooting Championship at the 1995 College Men's Final Four in Seattle, Washington. She finished her four-year career with 1,597 points.
