Elizabeth Goslee joined head coach Meredith Black and the Marquette University women’s lacrosse coaching staff in July 2017. She serves as defensive coordinator for the Golden Eagles.
Goslee (’16) returned to Marquette following a decorated four-year career in which she started all 68 games and left as the all-time leader in career caused turnovers.
“We’re so excited to have her back,” Black said of Goslee. “Her knowledge of the defense lets her to see things before they happen and that will help us to make quick adjustments, but it’s her intensity level alone that is going to push our defense to new heights.
“Biz has a natural coaching voice on the field and the transition for her from player to coach will be seamless,” Black added. “She is obviously familiar with our program and understands where we want to be. She’s a perfect fit for our program and I can’t wait for us to get started.”
During her four-year career, the Cincinnati, Ohio, native was a two-time IWLCA All-West/Midwest Region Second Team selection, a three-time All-BIG EAST and BIG EAST All-Academic honoree, a three-time team captain, and four-time team Hustle Award recipient.
She currently ranks second all-time in caused turnovers (88), second in ground balls (106), ninth in draw controls (38) and tied for first in games played (68) and games started (68). In 2015, she became the first player in program history to register at least 30 ground balls and 30 caused turnovers in a single season, adding 16 draw controls during a prolific campaign that earned her the first of two-straight all-region selections.
In 2014, Goslee was invited to train with the U.S. National Team and was selected among the top-38 players to compete in the 2014 Champions Challenge.
She spent the previous year with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Scranton, Pa., serving as a volunteer at an Adult Day Center helping individuals diagnosed with intellectual disabilities in the severe and profound range with functions of daily living. In her spare time, she coached the and was an assistant coach for the University of Scranton women’s team.
Goslee graduated from Marquette in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise physiology.
