Marquette Falls to No. 2 Florida, 15-5

GAINESVILLE - The Marquette University women's lacrosse team fell on the road to the second-ranked Florida Gators, who ran away with a 15-5 result at the Ronald R. Dizney Lacrosse Stadium on Wednesday.
The Gators (13-1, 4-0 BIG EAST) came out firing on all cylinders and showed why they are ranked No. 2 in the country, scoring 12 first-half goals en route to a convincing win at home. UF scored all 15 goals in succession before Marquette ended the game with five straight scores.
The Golden Eagles, which have succeeded in the draw circle all season and ranked second in the BIG EAST entering Wednesday with 11.75 draws per game, weren't able to get going until the very end and were outdrawn 11-9.
Florida was impressively consistent offensively, converting 15 goals on 20 shot attempts led by Lindsey Ronbeck's game-high five goals and two assists. Sammi Burgess and Nicole Graziano each added two goals and an assist as well.
Grace Gabriel, who scored Marquette's first goal of the game with 10:37 left in the second half, finished with two goals on five shots. Amanda Bochniak, Allison Lane and Devyn Antolini scored one goal apiece. Antolini's goal was her second of the year and came off an assist from Alina Atayan as regulation came to a close.
The Golden Eagles will have to shake today's performance off quickly as they face another difficult test against Temple, which is receiving votes in the recent Inside Lacrosse Top-20 poll, on Saturday at 1:35 p.m.
Saturday's game against Temple will be televised by Time Warner Cable SportsChannel along with the Marquette men's lacrosse game against Providence at 11 a.m.
