Costanza Reels In BIG EAST Weekly Honors

NEW YORK -- Marquette University junior attacker Claire Costanza has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll after leading the Golden Eagle offense in a pair of games last week, the league office announced today, March 31.
Costanza picked up her secondweekly accolade of the season after totaling five points, including four goals, to go along with five ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers in two games last week, including a setback to nationally-ranked Notre Dame.
The Webster, New York native continues her outstanding year as she ranks second in the BIG EAST with 38 points, including the second-most assists with 21. Against No. 18 Notre Dame, she registered her second hat trick of the season and dished out one assist in a four-point effort.
She added a goal in a loss to Villanova to open BIG EAST Conference play and extended her current points streak to 16 games dating back to the final five games of last season. She now has at least a point scored in 27 of her last 28 games overall.
Marquette will be back in action this Saturday, April 4, when it takes on the University of Connecticut on the road. First draw is set for 11 a.m. Central time.
