Men’s basketball season tickets on sale now

Full season ticket packages for the upcoming 2017-18 men’s basketball season went on sale Monday at 10 a.m. and start at just $125 for the 18-game home schedule. The slate includes nine contests with programs that participated in the 2017 NCAA tournament. Non-conference matchups with a trio of programs (Mount St. Mary’s, Purdue and Vermont) that participated in last year’s NCAA tournament highlight the home slate in addition to a BIG EAST Conference schedule that annually brings some of the nation’s top-ranked programs to Milwaukee.

Wilson, Blue and Lockett continued action in Vegas Summer League

Jamil Wilson and Trent Lockett concluded their NBA Las Vegas Summer League action with the Los Angeles Clippers and Atlanta Hawks, respectively, while Vander Blue will lead the Los Angeles Lakers into the championship game on Monday evening against the Trailblazers.

Wilson put up an impressive showing for the Clippers before joining the Golden Eagles Alumni TBT team this last weekend in Peoria. The Racine native shot nearly 80 percent from the field, while averaging 10.8 points per game.

Lockett posted 17 points in his summer league finale against Houston on Friday and is expected to join the Golden Eagles Alumni team for next weekend’s games in New York.

Starting in the Lakers backcourt alongside No. 2-overall pick Lonzo Ball, Blue posted a game-high 27 points in a quarterfinal win on Saturday and 17 points on Sunday in the semis. The Lakers have posted an overall record of 5-2 so far in Vegas.

Rosenthal claims Global Challenge crown with USA Volleyball College National Team

Jenna Rosenthal and the USA Volleyball College National Team captured a title over the weekend at the European Global Challenge in Croatia. The U.S. CNT won the crown by sweeping a squad comprised of all-stars from the Mountain West Conference

Marquette has four representatives make US Lacrosse training team

Former Marquette players Liam Byrnes, B.J. Grill and Jacob Richard, along with current volunteer assistant coach Ryan Brown, were among 49 players selected to the US Lacrosse training team that will prepare to compete in the 2018 Federation of International Lacrosse Men’s World Championship, it was announced last Wednesday afternoon. The selections were made following tryouts July 10-12 at US Lacrosse headquarters.

Soccodato competes with Team Italy in FIL World Cup

Cate Soccodato has been a major contributor for Team Italy at the 2017 FIL Women’s Lacrosse World Cup in England. She has five goals and an assist for the Italians, which concluded group play on Monday with a 9-5 victory over Switzerland and boast a 3-1 record in the tournament. The Marquette junior had a goal and an assist in the win. Italy takes on Ireland (2-1) on Tuesday in a play-in game that will send the winner to the championship bracket and the loser to the consolation bracket ready to face either Germany of the Czech Republic on Wednesday.

Golden Eagles Alumni advance to TBT Super 16 in Brooklyn

The Golden Eagles Alumni team advanced to the Super 16 of The Basketball Tournament with an 81-70 victory over Majerus SLU Crew on Sunday afternoon in Peoria, Illinois. The top-seeded Golden Eagles also topped Midwest Dream Squad on Saturday to advance out of the first round by making a combined 20 3-pointers.

They will face Purple and Black, a team of Kansas State alumni, on Saturday in Brooklyn, New York in a game televised live on ESPN at 1 p.m. Central time.

Led by general manager Dan Fitzgerald (’08) and head coach Wesley Matthews (’09), the Golden Eagles, a team comprised of former Marquette basketball players, are competing for the second year in a row in The Basketball Tournament for the $2 million prize.

The Super 16 takes place July 20–23 in New York (ESPN/ESPN2) and the championship game is slated for Aug. 3 in Baltimore and will be televised by ESPN.
