IWLCA Honor Roll

GRAND LAKE, Colo. -
The Marquette University women's lacrosse team was one of 93 Division I teams to earn 2016 IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad recognition, while seniors Lauren Hooker, Molly O'Brien and Sarah Priem were all named to the Academic Honor Roll on Friday.

The 2016 IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad list recognizes teams that record a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. This marks the third straight season under head coach Meredith Black that the Golden Eagles have earned the prestigious honor after compiling a 3.25 team GPA in the spring semester.

Hooker, O'Brien and Priem were named to the organization's Academic Honor Roll as well. They join juniors, seniors and graduate students from 95 other Division I institutions as student-athletes to register a 3.50 cumulative GPA or higher. O'Brien collects the honor for the second straight year.

Yesterday, the women's lacrosse team paced all MU programs as having the most student-athletes honored by the BIG EAST Conference with 27 student-athletes named to the league's All-Academic Team.

Marquette finished the 2016 season with a program record seven wins and recorded its highest-ever finish in the BIG EAST standings after tying for third place. The team will begin fall workouts in September.
