Fall Schedule

MILWAUKEE -
The Marquette University women's lacrosse team released its 2014 fall schedule Tuesday, highlighted by four matchups with teams that qualified for the 2014 NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Championship.

First, the Golden Eagles will face off against Ohio State on the road on Sept. 27 and travel to Michigan on Sept. 28. Then, the team will visit Notre Dame on Oct. 11 before participating in a tournament at Loyola Academy against Northwestern and Colorado on Oct. 12. Marquette concludes its fall schedule at Louisville on Oct. 25.

"We have a very competitive fall ball schedule this year, which will help us continue to grow as a program and start reaching our team goals to compete for the BIG EAST Championship," said fourth-year head coach Meredith Black. "With games against top teams from the ACC, Big Ten and last year's BIG EAST Champion, we will certainly be challenged, but that is what this team thrives on. We love playing against the top competitors and we are excited to get all these great opportunities in an exhibition format."

Ohio State, Notre Dame, Louisville and Northwestern all qualified for last season's NCAA tournament, with Northwestern losing in the semifinals to eventual champion Maryland. Notre Dame and Louisville advanced to the second round, while Ohio State was eliminated in the opening round by Louisville. The Cardinals also finished a perfect 7-0 in BIG EAST play last season and won the conference tournament.

The Golden Eagles will return 32 of 40 players from last year's 5-12 squad and welcome 11 newcomers.
