– The Marquette University women’s lacrosse program has announced its fall schedule, revealing five competition dates, including two against 2015 NCAA Division I Championships qualifiers.

“We are very excited for our fall ball opportunities this year,” head coach Meredith Black said. "We are playing very tough competition, which will help prepare us for our rigorous schedule in the spring, and we love that we can stay relatively local to see some of the best competition in the country during our non-traditional season. We are excited to grow as a team this fall and see what strengths we will have."

The Golden Eagles begin their fall season Saturday, Sept. 26, against Notre Dame on the road. The team will then travel to Glenville, Illinois for the “Chicago Playday” tournament Sunday, Oct. 4, followed by the team’s lone home game against Central Michigan, an upstart program, Saturday, Oct. 10.

The team will hit the road for their final two games of the fall season, heading to Ohio State and Louisville on Sunday, Oct. 11 and Saturday Oct. 17, respectively.

Two of Marquette’s fall opponents, Notre Dame and Ohio State went head-to-head in the 2015 NCAA tournament with the Irish prevailing in a first-round contest in Evanston, Illinois. Notre Dame would fall to host Northwestern in the second round.

Marquette will play its fourth season of NCAA competition in 2016, and third as a member of the BIG EAST Conference, after welcoming in nine newcomers to go along with the 28 returning letterwinners from a season ago.
