Borzillo Added to Women's Lacrosse Staff
Sept. 27, 2016
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University women’s lacrosse program has added Jacqueline Borzillo as director of lacrosse operations to its staff for the 2017 season.
After wrapping up her playing career in 2016 and graduating with a degree in marketing, Borzillo returns to the Golden Eagles to serve as director of operations where she will take on many of the day-to-day job responsibilities for the team.
“We’re excited to bring Jackie back to the women’s lacrosse program,” Marquette head coach Meredith Black said. “She was such an important part of our program from the very beginning and to have her back as our director of ops will continue to make us better all the way around. We feel her addition really completes our staff and will allow us to take that next step as a program.”
The Devon, Pennsylvania, native appeared in 44 games at defense for Marquette over her four-year career, collecting 44 draw controls, 22 ground balls and recording 14 caused turnovers.
“I am so excited to be back at Marquette,” Borzillo said. “I love this school and this team. I’m very excited to give back to the program that gave me so much and looking forward to helping Marquette grow. Coach Black is a great teacher and mentor and I’m so happy for this opportunity to continue to learn from her.”
Marquette is coming off its best season in program history after setting a single-season record with seven wins and recording its highest-ever finish in the BIG EAST Conference standings with a tie for third place. The Golden Eagles return the majority of their starting lineup in 2017 as they look to solidify themselves as league contenders.
