MILWAUKEE – Junior defender Elizabeth Goslee of the Marquette University women’s lacrosse team was named a preseason All-America honorable mention by Inside Lacrosse’s 2015 Face-Off Yearbook, marking the first time an MU player has earned such a preseason honor.

Goslee joined six other student-athletes from the BIG EAST Conference, while MU is one of just three BIG EAST programs to have a player honored (Florida and Georgetown are the others).

Earlier this summer, Goslee was selected to the 2014-15 U.S. Women’s National Team to train as part of the lead-up to the 2017 Federation of International Lacrosse Women’s World Cup in Surrey, England.

The Cincinnati-native continued to standout on defense for the Golden Eagles as a sophomore in 2014, ranking second on the squad in caused turnovers (21) and third in ground balls (24), while earning All-BIG EAST Second Team honors and sharing team most valuable player honors with classmate Hayley Baas.

Goslee helped the MU defense limit opponents to over three-and-a-half fewer goals during the program’s second season in 2014 and is one of four team captains selected for 2015, along with Baas, Kayce Haverstick and Jenaye Coleman.

The Golden Eagles begin the 2015 season on Sunday, Feb. 8 against Johns Hopkins in Houston, Texas.
