No. 10 Golden Eagles Look for First BIG EAST Tournament Championship
 
For the first time in program history, the Marquette women's soccer team will play for the BIG EAST Tournament Championship on Sunday, Nov. 8. The Golden Eagles will take on No. 1 National Division seed Notre Dame at Morrone Stadium in Storrs, Conn., at Noon ET/11 a.m. CT. The game will be broadcast live on CBS College Sports with Ann Schatz and Tammy Blackburn and on BIG EAST TV, which will air locally in Milwaukee on Sports32. It will also be available online via www.BIGEAST.tv for $3.95. The tournament champion will earn the league's automatic berth in the 2009 NCAATournament.

Sophomore Rachael Sloan's goal in the 27th minute was all the No. 10 Marquette women's soccer team needed to defeat West Virginia, 1-0, and advance to its first-ever BIG EAST Tournament Championship. The Golden Eagles will play the winner of Notre Dame/St. John's on Sunday, Nov. 8 at Noon ET at Morrone Stadium on the campus of the University of Connecticut. The game will be televised live on CBS College Sports as well as locally in Milwaukee on Sports32.

Markus Roeders Named BIG EAST Coach of the Year
 
Head women's soccer coach Markus Roeders was named the 2009 BIG EAST Coach of the Year and four other Golden Eagles were honored Thursday night by the BIG EAST Conference at its annual awards banquet preceding the semifinal games of the BIG EAST Championship in Hartford, Conn.
