2017 (RS Fr.):  Made it onto the pitch in all 21 games, collecting two goals ... Made her collegiate debut in the home opener against No. 2 Stanford (8/18) ... Netted her first career goal to snap a 1-1 tie against Kentucky and lead Marquette its first win of the season (8/20) ... Notched a goal in the shutout of Creighton (10/22). 

Did not see action as a true freshman in 2016.

Prior to Marquette: Hess was a four-year letter winner at Mayo High School … Ranked as the No. 22 recruit in the Midwest Region by TopDrawerSoccer in the class of 2016 … Helped the Spartans win back-to-back Big 9 Conference Championships in 2014 and 2015 (combined record of 22-0-0) … Achieved first team all-state recognition in 2015 … Selected as captain for her high school team in 2014 and 2015 … Ms. Soccer Minnesota nominee … 2015 All-Conference Big 9 Scholar Athlete … Posted 14 goals and 11 assists as a senior … The Spartans did not allow a goal against in conference play and outscored their opponents 73-5 for the season … Won State Cup Championship in 2014-15 season with Dakota Rev SC … Member of the Minnesota ODP State Team from 2010-14 and a Region II tournament finalist in 2013 … Region 2 ODP Team 2012-15, included Interregional ODP event in Florida and a trip to Costa Rica in 2013 … Also previously played with the Minnesota Thunder Academy … Member of the National Honor Society and her high school debate team.

Personal: Born in Rochester, Minnesota … Has one sister, Emma … Plans to study physical therapy.



1. What do you most look forward to during your time at Marquette?
I look forward to furthering not only my education, but my soccer skills here at Marquette. I also look forward to meeting new people!  

2. Is there anything that others are surprised to learn about you?
I like baby food.

3. What’s an interesting fact about your hometown?
The Mayo Clinic is there!

4. What type of music do you listen to? Favorite artist(s)?
I'm really open to all types of music. I love rap especially before games :)

5. Who is your biggest inspiration (athletic or otherwise)?
I would say my biggest inspiration is my parents because they always teach me lessons and how to be a better version of myself.
