Prior to Marquette: Engel competed at Arapahoe High School in 2009 and 2010, helping the school to state semi-finals and championship runs in those seasons. She was a member of the Real Colorado National team from 2009-2012. Engel's club team had tremendous success, capturing three-straight state championships (2007-09) and a state semifinals appearance in 2011. She participated as an alternate for the Colorado ODP in 2006 and 2007, before playing full-time in 2008. While a member of the Colorado Rush Nike (2006-09), Engel's play in net provided success in many elite tournaments including: Region IV ODP Semi-Finals (2009), Manchester Cup Quarter-Finals (2008), Region IV Quarter-Finals (2007), Surf Cup Semi-Finals and Colorado Rush Kickoff Classic Semi-Finals, where she was named the most valuable player (2007). Engel was an honor student all four years at Arapahoe and has taught pre-school religious education for the past three years. Personal: Daughter of Robert and Donna. Has two brothers. Intends to pursue a degree in physical therapy. |
