23 Andee Nelson Class: Freshman Hometown: The Woodlands, Texas High School: Woodland Prep Height: 5-4 Position: D/F

Prior to Marquette: Nelson was a three-sport standout at The Woodlands Preparatory School, excelling in soccer, basketball and track, and was named the school's Prep Athlete of the Year in 2011. As a two-year captain of the soccer team, she led the Wolverines to a regional championship and state semi-final appearance in her senior campaign. Nelson was a member of three-straight Final-16 state playoff teams (2009-11), named first-team all-state and all-district, and was the team's MVP. Nelson played for Challenge ECNL and South Texas ODP (2010). Nelson's Challenge ECNL team captured South Texas State Championships on five occasions and was Region III quarterfinalists four times. Nelson's club also participated in two national events, finishing in the top eight on both occasions. In track, Nelson was a regional and state champion in the 3200-meter run in 2010 and a regional and state silver-medalist in the 800 meters (2009-11).
