Golden Eagles drop first home match since October 2011

2013: Made her collegiate debut in season opener against Portland (8/23)... Picked up her first collegiate goal and assist in a shutout-win over Milwaukee (9/23)... Scored a goal and tapped two shots on goal in a 2-1 victory over Creighton (9/26)... BIG EAST Rookie of the Week (9/30)... Added two shots on goal in a 3-0 victory over Xavier (10/6)... Scored the lone and game-winning goal in a 1-0 shutout against Seton Hall (10/17)... Recorded two shots on goal in a 6-0 victory against Providence (10/27) ... Added an assist in a 2-0 shutout victory over DePaul in the title match of the BIG EAST Conference tournament (11/10)... Recorded a shot on goal in a 1-0 loss in the first round of the NCAA tournament to Western Michigan (11/15)...

Prior to Marquette: Bartels was a four-year letter winner in soccer at Skutt Catholic... Captain three of her four years on the team... Helped her team to two Nebraska Class B High School State Soccer Championships... Set a new school record for goals scored in a season with 31 in 2012, while also racking up 17 assists and 79 total points as a senior... Played club ball for Toro Soccer Club where she played in many elite tournaments... Attended multiple ODP training camps within the US as well as Holland and Costa Rica... Played on the US Region II Regional team for seven years ...In 2012, she helped her team to an EGA State Cup Championships and was named to the all-star team for her age group... Awarded the Golden Boot Award at the Region II ODP camp in 2011.
