At Appleton: A three-time letter winner at Xavier High School, Loughrin missed her senior year due to an injury to her left ACL before the season. She spent two years rehabilitating, serving as a student manager on the Marquette women's soccer team in her first year on campus. As a defender, she added to her offense's scoring punch, providing 23 goals and 17 assists in her three years. She was a two-time team Most Valuable player and was a three-time all-conference selection. She was named second team all-area as a junior. Her team had strong success while she was a member, earning three trips to the regional finals. Loughrin also lettered in volleyball and basketball, earning all-conference selections in both. She was very active academically as well. She was a member of the National Honor Society, German Honor Society, Key Club and was received the 2002 Academic Athlete award from Xavier.

Personal: Alison Rose Loughrin was born on August 20, 1985, in Covington, Va. She is the daughter of Patrick and Rose Loughrin. She has three siblings, Nicholas, Casey and Eric. She is a nursing major.
