Prior to Marquette: Loyd was a four-year letterwinner for Edina High School. During her prep career at Edina, Loyd helped lead the Hornets to a fourth place finish in the Minnesota State High School Tournament in 2009, and earn Minnesota Section II Championships in 2006 and 2009, Minnesota Section II Runner-Ups in 2008 and two consecutive Classic Lake Conference Championships. Loyd was a member of the Florida State ODP Team in 2006. She was also a member of the Minnesota State Pool from 2008-2009. Loyd also participated in the Soccer Plus Camps at the National Training Center from 2007-2009.

Personal: Daughter of Rick and Susan. Has one brother, Adam. Intends to major in broadcast and electronic communication.
