MEET THE 'FAMILY'-August 2015
What does being a part of the ‘FAMILY’ mean to you? Being a part of this MU soccer family is something so special. Our team is so close in so many ways. We have each others backs on the field, in the classroom, and in life. I have made some of the best friends that I will have and cherish for the rest of my life. We mean so much to each other and will do whatever we can to be successful for each other. We respect, love, and care about each other. Being a part of this MU family is something that you can’t find everywhere, what we have is special. And I am extremely blessed to be a part of it.
What accomplishment during your time at Marquette are you most proud of to-date? I am most proud of the moment I got to step on the field for Marquette women’s soccer team for the very first time. It was last year, the 2014 season and I was a junior. I had been injured my first two years and it was probably the most difficult thing I have been through in my life. I had worked so hard to get to that place where I could finally play again and score goals like I used to. In that first game back after two years, I was blessed to not only score one goal, but 2 goals! It was the most amazing feeling to finally be free from injury and celebrate with my entire team. I will never forget that game or moment because it is so important to me. I had been the lowest I’ve ever been in my life and persevering through that was an indescribable feeling.
Are there any pre-game rituals or superstitions that you have on match day? I always chew gum during games. It keeps my focus and if I don’t have any it feels wrong and unlucky!
Who is your biggest inspiration (athletic or otherwise)? My biggest inspiration are all the special people in my life. My parents are the most selfless and caring people I have ever met. They support me in every way possible. My mom and dad will do whatever they can to make sure that I am able to do and achieve whatever I want to. I have the best support system in the world and I can’t thank God enough for blessing me with such amazing people in my life. I am blessed with amazing family, parents, sisters, friends, coaches, and teammates. These people inspire me and encourage me to continue to follow my dream every single day.
Favorite professional sports team? Minnesota Vikings
Favorite sport other than soccer? I love all sports. Anything that has a ball I am in to!

Is there anything that others are surprised to learn about you? I went to a boarding school for high school, I have hitch hiker’s thumbs, I have 2 small tattoos, and I love shoes a lot.
An interesting fact about your hometown? I come from a small town in Iowa called La Porte City. Its population is 2,300 people.
