Caroline Shay

Prior to Marquette: Shay was a four-year letterwinner at Notre Dame de Sion High School, where she helped the team to three straight regional and district championships. Her team has been to three consecutive state semi-finals and advanced to the state championship match in 2011, taking second place. Through her three years of proven success on the pitch, she has been named a co-captain for the school's 2012 campaign. Shay's forward play on the field has garnered all-state recognition each year (2009-11) at Notre Dame de Sion. Along with the first-team all-state mention in 2010, she earned her region's Offensive Player of the Year award and was named to KC Star Metro's Honorable Mention team. Shay earned rookie of the year honors in 2009 as a freshman on the varsity squad. In 2011, her Blue Valley Soccer Club finished second in the Kansas State Cup.

Personal: Daughter of Jim and Connie Shay. Is the second of three children. Intends to major in health sciences.
